Entry #5 Beauty Is Nothing Without Brains...

Hello everyone!

A mayhem commercial I decided to analyze was Beauty Blogger. This advertisement really wants the audience to make sure they know that by choosing All-State insurance they will always have their backs. This specific advertisement really relates to parents with teenage kids! Now the whole worlds revolves on the internet, teenagers get inspired to make videos because they see their favorite content creator making thousands sometimes millions of dollars on a what looks like a simple video. Always trying new trends can not be a success, when one has so much control over something their mind wonder off to what they can do next and completely forget about what they had just did for example like what they might have turned on or off.

The main context of this ad was the straightener was set on a towel, completely forgot about and started a fire. This can be the most dangerous accident that would happen to a person. American culture now really shows younger audience that one can become a blogger of any type of interest they might have: Beauty, video games, cooking, ect. The public audience that this targets is to just be careful. Double check things are plugged out everything is turned off. Even if your running late, it's better to be running late because you've turned off anything that can cause harm than coming back with no place to sleep at. This advertisement is funny to the audience because now everyone wants to be a creator and make videos for the world to see, but behind the camera can be a totally different story.

The ad shows the narrator doing his hair with undereye patches and a band aid on the side of this face as if he has gotten hurt before hand. This lets viewers know that beauty comes with a price. Beauty is money. It takes place in a girly bedroom and makeup brushes peeking out on the sides of the camera meaning that "mermaid hair" is not the only thing that the narrator does. This is a well organized video because it starts off with the narrator starting the video and explaining that he is a upcoming beauty blogger.
Later on her leaves his hot tool on top of a towel that leads into a fire. With no care he simply puts on his sunglasses and walks out of frame. It really captures the audience attention as if parents might have seen their son or daughter do something similar. The mood of the video is calm and quiet, dimmed lights in the background as the main focus light is on the "beauty blogger". This appeals with todays culture of taking over the internet and doing what other creators or getting paid to do. The difference is that not many understand how hard it might be to the point where you are getting something on fire.

  1. I used the same commercial as you!
I definitely agree that he has no care for what he is doing/has done, but I also feel that this commercial has some very funny exaggerated effects. For example, I based my blog around the notion that leaving a flat iron like that for a short period of time wouldn't do that much damage, but also how it is very important to have insurance to make sure that everything you have is protected.
